This beautiful Bible is in the more traditional Black leather. The rich Arista Black Bonded Leather (smooth finished like dress gloves or a leather couch) complements the gilded page edges, plus a black colored ribbon and black and gold silk headbands make a stunning combination. Smyth-sewn binding will insure this Bible lasts for many years of study.
The NET Bible is the first Bible in history with extensive Translators' Notes; we considered what kind of edition would be appropriate for those who want to use and perhaps keep it as an important collector's edition for their library. Thus it is only available in a deluxe leather binding, but at a price which allows pastors, teachers, and students to afford a Bible which won't fall apart with extensive use. It is thin and beautiful, with a page size of 6x9", only 1.7" thick, smyth-sewn binding, gilded page edges, black marker ribbon and soft black saddle leather cover. Those who have only used the NET Bible online will be amazed at how much of each of the 2560 pages consist of the extensive Translators' Notes. Included in the box is a reference bookmark and a bible.org Bible Library cd - with loads of study tools and resources.
Designed for long life, these First Edition NET Bibles were bound with Premium Cromwell Bonded Leather on the observation that conventional leather dries and cracks in 35 to 150 years, while the modern Bonded Leather composition combines leather and advanced polymers in a way which should extend the working life of the NET Bible far beyond that observed by collectors of first edition Geneva and King James editions, whose spines cracked and fell apart centuries ago. Our goal was to make the first Printed NET Bibles last a very long time.
